Ryan Coelho - Owner / Race Director / CEO
Ryan was born in Mountain View, California in 1975 and has lived in 10 different cities in Northern California as well as Bellevue, WA. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Business with a concentration of Management Information Systems (MIS) from San Jose State University.
Ryan has an extensive background in sales, marketing, event production, project management and product management. He has held a number of project management positions in the Corporate world, working at Silicon Graphics and Sun Microsystems, as well as 15 years experience in the event management arena.
Ryan is passionate about healthy living through his 20 years with type 1 diabetes and strives to educate others about proper food intake and exercise. He has participated in athletics all of his life and continues to be active in sports to maintain his diabetes.
Ryan Coelho and Brandy Rousseau-Coelho were married in 2008, reside in Pleasanton, California, and hold their families dear to them in their daily lives.
Michelle Haustein - Volunteer & Communications Director
Michelle Haustein was born in Washington, but raised in beautiful El Dorado County in the Foothills of California. She currently lives in Coeur d’Alene Idaho, but will be transitioning back to California this summer, to be closer to family, friends and to intensify her Athletic desires. Michelle is married to Corey Haustein and has two amazing children, Alex & Allison.
Michelle has an enormous amount of Race Production / Management experience. She started her career in event management 9 years ago and has expanded it to events such as being the current Volunteer Director for the Coeur d’Alene Ironman. She is a Certified USAT Race Director and thrilled to be able to bring this knowledge to the USA Productions Team!
Michelle started racing Mountain Bikes in 2000 to “impress” her future Husband. This desire to compete guided her to Xterra Races, Marathons, Double Century road tours, International Distance triathlons and finally Ironman. During her Ironman training, Michelle found her true passion– Ultra Distance Swimming. She is currently training for a 70.3 Ironman in July, a 5 Mile ultra swim in September, and a 50 mile Mountain bike race in October.
Michelle’s enthusiasm and excitement lies in the sport of Triathlon. You will find her happiest in the world of triathlons; whether it’s behind the scenes in directing races, pumping up the athletes and spectators as an announcer or getting ready for the race as an athlete. Her life is “Fueling the Tri-athlete in everyone.”
Drew Berkett - Business Development Director
Drew is a native Californian having been born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and attending college at San Diego State University where she earned a BS in Psychology. Drew now resides in Danville, Ca, where she has raised her 2 daughters.
Drew is an avid mtn. biker, snow skier, snow boarder, water skier and scuba diver and has a true passion for the outdoors and nature. Having discovered triathlon 2 years ago, Drew is now hooked and will be looking forward to her first ½ Iron Man this year!
Drew brings 15 years of recruiting and business development experience as well as a strong background in fundraising and event planning and a love of triathlon to USA Productions.

Raised in Pleasant Hill, California Mason grew up a competitive swimmer racing for the Pleasant Hill Dolphins & local AAU. With a passion for swimming, baseball, basketball & football, swimming soon dropped to number two behind a dedicated baseball career. It was not until attending San Jose State University that swimming became a priority once again. After lifeguarding at the SJSU Aquatic Center Mason became acquainted with the local triathlon and open water swim scene thus reigniting a lifelong passion for multi-sport and event production. 17 years later you’ll continue to find Mason at all USA Productions triathlons and open water swims creating a safe and successful swim event!
Corey Haustein - Bike Course Director
It has been my experience that as we participate in the things we love the more we learn of ourselves. Corey has participated in just about all forms of outdoor recreation. Corey's passion is in ultra running and single speed mountain bike racing. He enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife Michelle and their two children Alex (age 13) and Allison (age 11). They too are very active kids.
Corey has been teaching the sport of triathlon for about six years. He currently coaches all distances and athletes abilities. He has been directing races for three years now and is having a fantastic time with it. "I love the logistical side to putting on an event".
Corey, an Ironman finisher with goals of competing in an Ultraman competition. He currently is training and is focused to compete in the Western States 100 endurance race and the Leadville 100. He is also interested in the 100 mile mountain bike race in Lake Tahoe California; however Corey said, "I will be racing on a single speed mountain bike". Corey is a husband and father to his family and loves the sports he is involved with. "My training is what makes me happy and my coaching is what makes me humble".
Nick Tuttle - Announcer / Video Production Coordinator
If you've participated in the sport of triathlon in the San Francisco Bay Area, chances are Nick Tuttle has called out your name when you crossed the finish line. Nick has been involved in endurance sports for the past 20 years as an athlete, coach, race announcer and event producer. Known for his positive attitude on the microphone and his athletic background, Nick has an entertaining spirit that adds a great deal of quality to any event he participates.
As a four time Ironman triathlete, certified coach and top age group finisher, Nick understands the endurance athlete mindset and what it takes to compete at the highest level. Like a lot of people, Nick came to the sport of triathlon from a background in running. Specifically track and field, where he competed as a middle distance runner at the University of Nebraska. After his experience in the midwest, Nick returned home to the Bay Area and started his own coaching and athletic training company.
Since then Nick has worked as a cycling coach at Velo SF in San Francisco and is now in his third year working with USA Productions. Look for Nick on the mic cheering you on or racing next to you at your next Ironman or 70.3 triathlon.

Bruce Smith - Open Water Swim Clinics Coach
A career coach, the breadth and depth of Bruce’s coaching resume have given him a wealth of knowledge in the sports of swimming and triathlon. Bruce brings to the clinic series 15 years of swim coaching experience, currently as a Site Head Coach for Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics, a Gold Level USA Swimming team of over 1000 athletes which won the 2009 Women’s National Senior Short Course Championships; 17 years of triathlon coaching experience – both as a personal coach of multiple USAT National Team members and as the former head coach and founder of the Alpine Hills Triathlon team which won the 2003 USAT Small Club Nationals; and 24 years of personal triathlon and open water swimming experience, including the 2001 Ultraman. What led Bruce to become a professional coach were two of his passions - experiencing life through the challenges that sports present to the body and mind; and helping others learn, experience and achieve. Bruce’s soft-spoken confidence, calming demeanor and ‘have fun’ approach make Bruce an approachable and accessible leader. His empathy and passion to help others has helped Bruce become a versatile and successful teacher. And his ability to connect, inspire and communicate with athletes of all different abilities and ages make Bruce the coach he is today.
Hani Juha - Triathlon Clinics Coach
Hani specializes in coaching intermediate cyclists. He has a passion that's infectious, plus empathy and confidence that transfers easily to athletes in any sport. Hani has been a competitive cyclist and triathlete for most of his life, he brings expertise and experience to all levels. Hani is also an accomplished adventure racer. In 2004, he joined a local adventure racing team to find a new challenge in the outdoors. Hani started with 8 hour races, progressing to 24 hour races and on to the Baja Travesia five day race where he managed a top five finish with his team in 2007. Hani continues adventure racing and works to increase the visibility of the sport, encouraging participation among adventurers of all types. Hani has recently published a cycling book, “Start Spinning Your Wheels”. This is a unique guide to help people who are buying their first bike and getting started in the sport. Tim and Penni Bengtson – Timing Coordinators
Tim and Penni Bengtson own Finish Line Productions, LLC , an event management and timing company located in Santa Cruz County. After 25 years working in high tech both Tim and Penni deserted Silicon Valley - combining their technical and business development skills to put all their efforts in their own business.
Tim is an electrical engineer and accomplished private pilot. His attention to detail and creates a perfect fit for the demanding needs of a high tech timing solution. Penni is a USAT Level II Certified Race Director and Coach as well as an ironman triathlete and trail runner. She has her sites set on her first 50 mile ultra run sometime in 2010, after Ironman Coeur d’Alene in June.
