About the Catfish Crawl @ Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area
This event will be an expansion of Catfish Crawl South Bay and will start a series for Bay Area swimming events produced by USA Productions. We will be adding several new facets to our events for collegiate and high school challenges. We know there are plenty of triathletes and swimmers in the Bay Area, and they can now enjoy our open water swims to train for upcoming triathlon events, or simply just get out of the pool and the monotony of lap swimming. Shadow Cliffs is ideal for competition, offering clean water, warm sun, and a beach party atmosphere.
About The Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area:
A haven for swimming and fishing can be found at Shadow Cliffs, only a mile from downtown Pleasanton on Stanley Boulevard. Shadow Cliffs, formerly a gravel quarry, was donated to the Park District by Kaiser Industries, and its assessed value of $250,000 was used to obtain a matching grant for development of the park from the U.S. Bureau of Outdoor Recreation. With this start, the Park District has developed a 266-acre park including an 80-acre lake and a four-flume waterslide, with ample parking and picnic grounds. There are facilities for persons with physical challenges. Besides the main lake, the shady areas and quiet waters make for a peaceful retreat on hot summer days. www.ebparks.org/parks/shadow_cliffs
