Bike Course:

Online bike course map (Click Here) The SVIT is one of the fastest, best monitored bike courses available in Triathlons. The looped course is 24.9 miles, flat and fast. The average course speed for males in 2007 was 25 mph and the females averaged 17-22 mph. The course is wide and very safe with over 40 San Jose Police Officers as well as volunteers. This enables athletes to let it fly! Approximately halfway through the course, participants encounter a mile long hill. Bailey Avenue is where athletes will start to feel the effects of hammering the flats. Bailey Avenue is a steep grade that is closed for all Silicon Valley International Triathlon participants. There will be one water station on the bike course at the top of Bailey Avenue. If needed there will be custom SVIT water bottles in transition before the race, custom water bottles will be provided at the finish line as well for hydration after the race.

The finish will be in the middle of the Almaden Park and sports expo. The run is totally flat & very fast. Hundreds of spectators will be on hand to watch the exciting finish.

There will be water provided every mile on the run course, gel and electrolyte sports drink will also be at all water stations. The best volunteers in the world will be cheering you on and supporting your accomplishment.

USAT Sanctioning:

USAT provides comprehensive insurance coverage to sanctioned events. The coverage provides liability coverage to protect the race director, sponsors, volunteers, officials, and participants. The athlete excess medical coverage protects each participant for the day of the event.

Athlete Excess Medical: When athletes purchase a USAT annual license or one day permit, a portion of those fees cover the cost to provide them with excess medical insurance. This coverage only extends to their participation in an USA Triathlon sanctioned event and is only available after the injured party has filed with any primary insurance policies.

Event Liability: USAT provides comprehensive liability insurance coverage to sanctioned events. The USA Triathlon policy automatically covers USA Triathlon race directors, sponsors, volunteers, officials, and participants while participating in sanctioned events. Single-event permit can only be purchased through the race director and is $10 at packet pickup or the day of the event. USA Triathlon does not sell single-day permits.

New or Renewing Members:Click here to visit USATmembership.com to purchase a new membership or renew an old one.
